Submission Preparation Checklist
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
-
The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
-
The text adheres to the stylistic requirements outlined in the "Author Guidelines" (APA).
-
The text has had the authors' names removed. If an author is cited, "Author" and year are used in the bibliography and footnotes, instead of author's name, paper title, etc. The author's name has also been removed from the document's Properties, which in Microsoft Word is found in the File menu.
This journal uses double-blind review, which means that both the reviewer and author identities are concealed from the reviewers, and vice versa, throughout the review process. To facilitate this, authors need to ensure that their manuscripts are prepared in a way that does not give away their identity.
-
There has been no falsification or fabrication of data findings.
-
Publication has been approved by all co-authors and responsible authorities at the organization where the work has been carried out.
-
The paper includes no instances of plagiarism, such as verbatim copying of another’s work and submitting it as one’s own, or changing words and phrases while retaining the essential content of another’s work.
-
Authors will conduct their research in line with best practices and regulations of their professional bodies and home institutions. Authors will adhere to the guidelines of TCPS 2 (2014): the latest edition of Tri-Council Policy Statement: Ethical Conduct for Research Involving Humans. The paper complies with the ethical requirements of Informed Consent and any conflict of interest has been declared.
Author Guidelines
Please follow the following guidelines closely. Your paper may be returned unread and unreviewed if these guidelines are not followed.
Manuscripts are expected to be the original work of the author. They should not be under consideration of any other publication. By submitting to this journal, the author agrees to allow Stream to release his or her article under Creative Common License Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0).
(1) Papers should be submitted with cover page that includes: the title of the paper, a 200-300 word abstract, which appears at the beginning of the paper and which is labeled 'Abstract', a list of 3-5 keywords. Do not include the name(s) of the author(s) or any other information
(2) Papers should be 5 - 20 pages in length and submitted electronically in Word (.docx/.doc) or rich text (.rtf) format.
(3) Manuscripts should be double spaced. They should employ italics rather than underlining (except URLs).
(4) Stream only accepts papers whose in-text citations and works cited lists conform to APA style. Please consult an APA style guide. Before submitting your paper, check all of your citations. Ensure their accuracy in terms of content, page numbers, etc. Please see Purdue Online Writing Lab for detailed instruction on APA style.
(5) Please ensure your paper uses Canadian spelling. Consult the Canadian Oxford English Dictionary or the Canadian Press Caps and Spelling.
(6) Punctuation: Commas and periods are located inside of quotation marks (e.g. "end."), not outside of them (e.g. "end".). When punctuating a list with serial commas, include a comma before the final list item (e.g., "this, that, and the other thing" not "x, y and z"). Do not use two spaces between sentences. Only use one space.
(7) Please use endnotes sparingly. List notes at the end of your paper. Ensure that your in-text endnote numbers and the notes at the end of the paper correspond.
(8) Stream allows for five levels of headings. Please follow APA guidelines for headings and seriation.
(9) Photos or tables should be placed in the text and labeled correctly according to APA style. Ensure that you can provide high resolution (at least 150dpi) copies of all photographs and graphics upon acceptance. All photos must be accompanied by copyright information. If the copyright of the photo is not held by the author, then permission must be obtained from the original copyright holder. It is the author's responsibility to obtain this permission.
(10) If you would like to use sound, video, databases, or other multimedia, please contact the editors
